McGuireWoods is pleased to announce that Casey Lucier<\/a> has returned to the firm after completing her service as investigative counsel to the House Select Committee to Investigate the Jan. 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.<\/p>

Lucier rejoins the firm in Washington, D.C., and Richmond, Virginia, as a partner in the nationally recognized Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department<\/a>. Her practice focuses on government investigations and includes antitrust investigations and litigation as well as congressional investigations.<\/p>

Before joining the House Select Committee staff in October 2021, Lucier represented companies facing government scrutiny across industries.  She represented companies and individuals in government investigations, including antitrust cartel matters. She also conducted internal investigations, advised on compliance matters, and counseled clients on the risks of criminal prosecution and regulatory enforcement actions.<\/p>

During her work for the House Select Committee, Lucier investigated interference with the result of the 2020 presidential election and the peaceful transfer of power. Her investigative work focused on pressure exerted on the vice president, pressure placed on state and local officials, and the organization of Trump electors in key battleground states. Lucier contributed to the House Select Committee\u2019s litigation matters (principally Eastman v. Thompson<\/em>), presentation of the House Select Committee\u2019s evidence during public hearings, and preparation of the House Select Committee\u2019s final report.<\/p>
