Hatch<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcguirewoods.com\/news\/press-releases\/2023\/8\/benjamin-hatch-to-chair-environmental-mass-tort-department\">new role<\/a>&nbsp;as chair of the firm\u2019s Environmental &amp; Mass Tort Department.<\/p><p>Hatch, a former federal prosecutor who represents clients in high-stakes civil litigation, criminal investigations and appeals, became chair of the department effective Sept. 1, 2023. He leads a litigation and investigations team with deep experience in high-stakes mass tort, environmental and product liability matters; federal and state attorney general-led investigations and enforcement actions; and regulatory proceedings.<\/p><p>McGuireWoods\u2019 Environmental &amp; Mass Tort Department is structured into four practice groups: environmental litigation, product liability and mass torts, environmental enforcement and regulatory counseling, and crisis management and incident response.<\/p><p>\u201cThink of any major event that\u2019s happened, train derailment, that sort of thing, you\u2019re going to have government investigations, you\u2019re going to have regulatory compliance and interaction you\u2019re going to have civil, environmental litigation,\u201d Hatch told <em>Law360 <\/em>in the Aug. 28, 2023, article.
